Monica Anastase and Axel Moustache, professional actors, embark on an improvised adventure, an unscripted theatre performance by two, exploring deeply human themes through captivating characters and strong emotions.
Our show is an improvised one, different each time. It all begins with us sharing some of our personal thoughts, triggered by an audience suggestion. We take the first suggestion we hear – from words like “coffee”, “sofa” or “significant other”, and we end up with scenes about teenagers going across social class barriers, about space exploration or about people stuck between four walls for their own fear of living.
Both Axel and Monica have been teaching, since 2010, personal development classes through improv, both for amateurs and for improvisers. Whether they want to explore their personality in a playful way, or they aim to grow their team of co-workers, or they practice improvised theatre, their students in Romania have come to be a united and active community.
Monica and Axel are confident performers and excellent actors who allow the stories to unfold at their own pace, gradually building the tension of each scene.
I learned how to interact with the people around me naturally. I received and important amount of self-confidence and courage, and all this was achieved with a very nice and relaxed atmosphere.
Monica and Axel are amazing teachers! They promote the kind of impro I love: sincere and deep. They are patient and able to adapt themselves to a mixed group of students.
I discovered my artistic side. Axel – fabulous! Monica – splendid!
This class represented 2 hours of unwinding, relaxing and laughing. Moreover, I learned to listen to the people around me more.
"A couple of everything" is a fantastic and intriguing foray into character and story. Monica and Axel showcase a breadth of talent as both improvisers and actors, as they create meaningful and touching worlds, just with the right combination of humor and heart.
I gained ease in communication, and Axel and Monica helped me overcome certain psychological barriers. A new breath!
A big thank you for the patience, positive energy and interest you gave us.
I managed to relax and learn things about myself. I realized that the principles from improv are true for daily life as well, and when I keep them in mind, I’m more relaxed and joyful.
Good people don't always make good performers, but when they do it's most satisfying. These two have lovely commitment, agreement and great stage presence as improvisers. They have a groundedness as improvisers that is powerful, and leads to compelling work. Recommended!
The three stories come together harmoniously on stage. There is not a second of boredom, everything is fluid, and the transition between stories increases suspense – where will they go now? What will happen next?
I liked the workshop, the pacing was good, they firmly guided us along. I took from this workshop the fact that relationships and strong emotional reactions are good.
Axel knows how to get your attention and relax people, I like his spontaneity. Monica is a good teacher and a factor of balance.
There are so many things you don’t know about yourself, and you could never imagine you would discover. Improvisation will reveal many of them to you, and you will be totally astounded.
Romania's improv pioneers taking you down the rabbit hole with their fun, deep, touching duo show!
I can tell you it’s exhilarating. The actors take each other’s hands and jump. The cord is only between them, they are not tied to any anchor point. They support each other. You are the safety net – be there for them.
