    Axel

    Axel is an actor at The National Theatre in Bucharest Romania and the founder of Improvisneyland, the longest lasting impro group with the same cast in Romania.

    He is a theatre and film actor, was awarded with the “Awaited Generation” Prize for Theatre in Romania and was nominated for “Best Newcomer Filmactor” at Undine Awards in Austria for costarring in the “The Beheaded Rooster” coproduction.

    He has been sharing his improvisation skills and techniques since 2010, creating the Improv Academy together with his coleagues from Improvisneyland. Regular workshops, corporate teambuilding, business training, he’s done it all. Still, he wants to learn more from every group of improvisers he comes into contact with, because for Axel learning means living your life to your maximum creativity.

    He performed at international improv Festivals, including the world famous Chicago Improv Festival and teaches improv workshops in English, German and Romanian.

    Monica has a BA in Acting from the National University for Drama and Film Arts „I.L. Caragiale”. She performed in shows such as „A șapteakafana” – a documentary about human trafficking, „Hamlet” – an experiment coordinated by Liliana Pană, „Macbeth” – an exercise led by Radu Penciulescu at the Bucharest National Theatre. She was in the British TV show “The Bill” and was part of the production team for movies „Mirrors” starring Kiefer Sutherland and „The Whistleblower” starring Rachel Weisz.

    Since 2007 she is the president of Asociatia Tam-Tam, as which she produced shows such as “The Underpants” by Carl Sternheim, “The Odd Couple” by Neil Simon, “The Immigrants” by SlavomirMrozek, “Miss Julie” by August Strindberg etc.
    Monica translated Keith Johnstone’s classic “Impro”, Mick Napier’s “Improvised. Scene from the inside out” and Jill Bernard’s “Small cute book of improv”.

    She initiated and is the artistic director of !MPRO – the National Improv Festival in Bucharest, Romania.
